Ashley James Turner has extensive knowledge of the voice and the singing voice with over 15 years experience of teaching singing. He specialises in Musical Theatre singing and technique but also supports his clients in Contemporary Commercial Music. Ashley’s clients have been successful in auditions, performing in the West End, UK tours and have successfully gained places in some of the UK's leading training colleges and Universities.

Currently associate singing coach and musical director at Performers College, School of Theatre Excellence (Birmingham) and Dancebox Studio’s, Ashley is passionate about working in education. Ashley has lectured in singing and voice and various institutions including London Studio Centre, Wilkes Academy, Arts Educational London, Platinum Academy of Performing Arts, Buckinghamshire New University and University of Cumbria.

Ashley holds an MA in Opera and Music Theatre from the University of Sussex. Since graduating he has worked as a performer, singing and voice practitioner, Musical Director and composer. As a composer, his works have been performed at The Lowry (Manchester, UK), The Tobacco Factory (Bristol, UK) and Mercat des las Flores (Barcelona, Spain), amongst other venues. In 2017, Ashley composed for the Barcelona International Dance Exchange and worked with choreographers and dance artists from across the world. 

Ashley is a Vocal Process Accredited teacher, passionate about continuing to be up to date with his singing knowledge and technical understanding. Vocal Process is owned and led by world renowned Dr Gillyanne Kayes and Jeremy Fisher. As well as Ashley’s accreditation, he attends workshops, conferences and lectures to keep up to date with new approaches and research. He is passionate about ensuring his practice and studio is welcoming to all singers, so takes particular interest in supporting transgender and non-binary clients.
